My love affair with food began when I was a young girl, about 7 years old. I learned how to cook simple recipes and helped my mother prepare meals on a regular basis. Through my high school and college years I cooked to earn extra money. I dreamed of being a chef, which later developed into a lifetime obsession with delicious and exquisite foods from around the world.
A 15-year career in marketing, management and business consulting enabled my true love and passion–food and entertaining–to become my life’s work. In 2004 I founded Mirepoix USA, an online company that sells gourmet foods and designs and markets sumptuous food tasting events and culinary tours, catering to connoisseurs of luxury foods.
I influence and teach people how to create a feast for all of the senses with every meal. The platforms I utilize to educate consumers include my numerous YouTube videos, e-newsletters, and my website, recipe blog, and social media. I design and produce tasting events hosted in private homes and public venues in Nevada and California, plan and escort culinary tours around the world, and I’ve published a booklet of my own unique recipe collection. The Reno Gazette Journal ran a two page article about Mirepoix USA and I have been featured in Bloomberg, Reuters, The San Francisco Chronicle, ABC, CNBC, France 2, Food Arts, The Nation’s Restaurant News, among others.
In 2015 I rebranded the company and changed the name to Laurel Pine, Living Luxury.
