Perigord Black Truffles
Fresh black truffles from the Perigord region in France are the most highly prized winter black truffles. Exceptional quality, highly fragrant and flavorful, our whole fresh truffles were flown from France just days ago. These are the real thing! Available late November through March. PRICE IS FOR THIS WEEK. Please call for availability. 4 oz should be three to seven whole truffles. Weight is very close, but approximate.
Black truffles are best when cooked because the heating process releases the wonderful truffle flavor and aroma. Place thin slices of black tuffles under the skin of unccoked poultry such as duck or pheasant. For the ultimate pairing, add sliced truffles to your foie gras preparation. Black truffles also pair well with with many other meats including beef and pork and game meats such as venison, boar and elk. Black truffles are also wonderful in sauces made with hearty wine or brandy.
Fresh black truffles are shipped overnight or 2-day only and must be used within a few days. For the most fresh product possible, order by 11:00 am PST Wednesday in time to ship for Friday delivery. (Fresh truffles arrive every Wednesday afternoon from France.)
